Rhodes is preparing to welcome one of the most ambitious hotel projects of the last decade. The legendary Grand Hotel of the Mitsis Group is undergoing a radical transformation and will reopen its doors from 2026, marking a new era for luxury tourism on the island. With an investment of 80 million euros and the signature of the globally recognized architectural firms WATG and ROAM Interior Design, the project aspires to become a landmark in the Mediterranean, the company points out.
The new Grand Hotel, according to the company, will combine timeless elegance with modern luxury, drawing inspiration from the rich cultural heritage of Rhodes. As Nick Carrier of WATG, who undertook the transformation of the Grand Hotel, revealed in an interview, the goal is to create a space that will showcase the Aegean and offer guests a higher level of hospitality experience.
With 327 rooms and suites, the hotel will feature top-tier amenities, including marble bathrooms with materials from historic Greek quarries, luxurious furniture, personalized mini-bars, and balconies overlooking the sea, the gardens, or the city of Rhodes.
It will include 148 rooms with an Aegean view, 134 with a pool and garden view, 28 with a city view, 12 private residences, 11 pool cabanas, and facilities specially designed for guests with mobility needs.
